With a sell-through rate above 90%, plain torso assemblies are some of the quickest-moving parts on Bricklink. Available for a little more than $1.00 each in the US from LEGO’s PAB service, bulk buys on Bricklink are usually around $.90.
Most plain torsos are purchased from Germany, with the UK being the largest market and the US second. Both countries have well-established custom printing outfits which are the main buyers of plain torsos.
For parts tin both new and used condition, plain 2×4 bricks are solid sellers, especially tan (67% sell-through used, 53% new), green (63% used, 54% new), and white (63% used, 64% new). “Landscaping” may account for the high demand for these colors.
Sell-through rate here is calculated by dividing the 6-month quantity of parts sold by the quantity of parts sold plus current inventory. It is one method for measuring demand for a part, but should be considered along with the volume of parts sold. Some parts are not listed in large quantities because the demand is low and one large order can swing the sell through rate dramatically.
For example, the common 2×2 yellow brick with eyes printed on two sides is not in very high demand, normally, and only a few hundred new ones are listed for sale. In July 2024 however, someone ordered over 100 of them, sending its sell-through rate up to 72% for several months.
